Games-based learning for mixed-ability primary groups. No repetitive drills, no long lines waiting for ‘your turn’, no demonstrations or lectures. Group sizes are kept small so children are kept active for the whole session and every individual partakes equally in the activity. Our after-school clubs are highly inclusive and are offered to all children.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Great care is taken over game-design to ensure each individual can attain success, find challenge and, most importantly of all, have fun! Not only do the children improve in all areas of cricket skill, but in playing a variety of cricket-adapted versions of baseball, dodgeball and netball (amongst others), they are also building foundational sporting skills and physical literacy that will transfer across the board.

TACTICAL/CREATIVE SKILLS:

We believe learning is more powerful when children are encouraged, and given the space, to come up with their own strategies and methods of gameplay. All the games in our after-school clubs contain tactical elements and the children are asked to find the best solutions to the problems the games set.

SOFT SKILLS:

Teamwork and cooperation are strongly encouraged. Every child is given the chance to ‘captain’ to promote leadership skills. We stress the importance of having fun and developing skills over winning. That all children are kind and positive towards one another is the number one rule.

After-School Club T&Cs

Refunds: We understand that parents plan their lives around their children’s timetables and therefore aim to keep our sessions on in almost any weather. Only when it becomes unsafe for the children to attend the club - if its icy or if we are experiencing very heavy and persistent rain - will we cancel a club. In the very rare instances this happens, I’m afraid we can’t offer refunds for the missed session. Our overheads - school fees, staff wages, insurance, equipment etc - remain, whether the session takes place or not. Thank you for your understanding.

Behaviour: No two children are the same and primary age children face a huge number of challenges as they grow, so we certainly don’t expect perfect behaviour (whatever that might look like!?). The only rule of our clubs is “Be nice to one another”. Life isn’t always easy, so we understand there will be times when this rule is broken and that’s ok. However, if any single child either persistently breaks this rule or disrupts the running of the club, we will contact their grown ups. If, after this initial contact, the child’s behaviour does not improve we may, as a last resort, have to exclude the child from the club. Again, in these very rare instances, no refunds will be given.
